Yay! make it yourself: wholemeal butter squash bread




Healthy eating is a long lasting journey as it is tied to one's fitness. It entails filling your body with the required nutrients to develop a body with wellness free from illness. I as an individual, I am constantly exploring different healthy recipes and meal options to ensure my healthy lifestyle is not boring.  Today's recipe is WHOLEMEAL BUTTER SQUASH BREAD for the bread lovers.

          Ingredients 

          2 cups wholemeal wheat flour
          2 large eggs
          1  cup roasted pureed butter squash
          4 tsp honey
          1 tsp cinnamon
          1/2 cloves
          1/2 nutmeg
          1/2 baking powder
          1 baking soda
          1/2 cup dried raisins
          Pinch of salt
          Pepitas (for topping or any choice of nuts)


  • Preheat the oven at 400 degrees F. 
  • In a bowl or mixer mix your dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, raisins, and cloves) and set aside. 
  • In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients (pureed butter squash, eggs, and honey). 
  • Afterward, combine both dry and wet ingredients together. 
  • Pour the batter mixture into a greased baking bread pan, add the toppings and put it into the oven.
  • Bake for 50 mins or until  a toothpick inserted in the center comes clean.
  • Serve with greek yogurt or peanut butter or soup for the soup lovers like me.
